What is a WebP file?
WebP is an image format Google introduced in 2010 to make websites load faster. Many sites now serve their pictures as WebP, so when you save an image from a browser you often get a .webp file. Some photo editors, office programs and upload forms still won’t accept it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I convert animated WebP?
Only the first frame is converted, so the result is a still image.
What about transparent WebP images?
JPG has no transparency, so those areas turn white. Pick PNG in the format menu to keep them see-through.
Is it allowed to convert images from websites?
Converting the file format is fine, but the picture itself may still be protected by copyright. Check you have the right to use it.
