Lower quality means smaller files.

Why HEIC photos won’t open

Since iOS 11 in 2017, iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. HEIC keeps the same picture quality as JPG in a smaller file, but many Windows programs, websites, print shops and older phones still can’t open it. Converting to JPG fixes that.

How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Tap the box above and choose your HEIC photos. You can pick many at once.
  2. JPG is already selected. Leave quality at 92% for nearly identical photos, or lower it for smaller files.
  3. Press Convert, then Save or Save all.

Frequently asked questions

Will my photos lose quality?

At 90% or higher the difference is very hard to see. JPG files are usually somewhat larger than the HEIC originals.

Can I stop my iPhone from taking HEIC photos?

Yes. Go to Settings → Camera → Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos will be saved as JPG.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser, so your photos stay on your phone or computer.
