Why convert JPG to PNG
Every time a JPG is edited and saved again, it loses a little more detail. PNG never throws detail away, so it’s a safer format while you’re still editing, adding text, or using an image in a design tool. Some upload forms and print services also ask for PNG.
How to convert

- PNG is already selected. PNG has no quality slider because it keeps everything.

Frequently asked questions
Will the photo look better as PNG?
No. Converting can’t bring back detail the JPG already lost. It only stops further loss from now on.
Why is the PNG so much bigger?
PNG stores every pixel without compression tricks made for photos, so photo PNGs are often several times larger than the JPG.
Does this make the background transparent?
No. The picture stays the same. To cut out the background, use Remove background.
